“CLOUDS”… Zach Sobiech

“Death, be not proud, though some have called thee
Mighty and dreadful, for thou art not so;
For those whom thou think’st thou dost overthrow,
Die not, poor Death, nor yet canst thou kill me.
From rest and sleep, which but thy pictures be,
Much pleasure; then from thee much more must flow,
And soonest our best men with thee do go,
Rest of their bones, and soul’s delivery.
Thou art slave to fate, chance, kings, and desperate men,
And dost with poison, war, and sickness dwell;
And poppy or charms can make us sleep as well
And better than thy stroke; why swell’st thou then?
One short sleep past, we wake eternally,
And death shall be no more; Death, thou shalt die.”

John Donne (1572-1631)

Two days ago, I watched a video about a young man, still a teen-ager, Zach Sobiech

who knew he was going to die. He tells about his life… Listening to what he was saying,

the way he was facing death and how he decided to live his last days, made me

realize the transcendentality of the soul. Being so young – only 17 years old, he showed

wisdom , faith and courage rarely found in any human being in a similar situation.

He certainly was an enlightened being.

I also thought how very fortunate Zach was in having such a marvelous united family and

so many wonderful friends.

So, I want to share his story with the ones who read my blog, because Zach is an

example to be followed in order to appreciate life as a gift from God.

Zach died  when he was only 18 years old. His song, “CLOUDS” became a hit when he

was still alive and, after his death, it reached # 1 in iTunes.

If you wish, ‘GOOGLE’ his name and you’ll be able to know much more about him.You’ll

be able to listen him telling his own story, singing ‘Clouds’ and much more… most

certainly you’ll also ‘learn’– as I did – how great can a soul be.

  1. Thank you for sharing Zachs gift with me, that was truly amazing.

    • HI, BENJAMIN!

      He really gave us all – so young, a ‘lesson of living’… Life isn’t easy for most of us, dear friend. NONONOOOOO… There are times we feel ‘down’, hopeless, etc. But we must remember: God is with us. If. and/or WHEN He allows things to hurt us – in one or another way – there is a reason… BUT, with FAITH, we always ‘recover’ and HOPE comes again and sustains us… There will be a time we’ll understand HIS reasons… and then, I’m sure, we’ll think: Why was I worried, sad, tired, distressed, or whatever alike – is the ‘result’ is this one? We’ll be thanking Him then, and we’ll be smiling…

      Here in Brazil(rio de Janeiro, it’s now almost 2 AM… so, I’ll go to bed . BTW: what time is it where you arem BEN?
      No matter what time it is: feel hope and happiness in your heart, dear friend, and may your evening be a nice one…

      TX for your commnet 🙂
